Agnes Smith
Our beloved Agnes Carol Smith, 87, passed away in her home on Saturday, Jan. 11, 2025, in Oklahoma City.
Agnes was born April 24, 1937, in Kingfisher.
She was loved and will be missed by her daughter Brandy Sue Smith; son William James “Billy” Smith and his wife Stacey and extended family; brother John F. Emmerich; sister Roberta Diamos; niece Jennifer and nephew Ricky.
She was preceded in death by her parents John and Agnes (Schlecht) Emmerich; husband Sylvester Francis Smith; and brother Steve Anthony Smith.
Agnes attended Big Four High School in Kingfisher County.
Her first residence was at the YWCA in Oklahoma City where she met lifetime friends.
Agnes loved to dress nicely and would not leave home without her hair fixed, makeup and nails perfect.
Her first job was at the state Capitol. Later, she attended beauty school and became a nail technician.
Agnes was a longtime member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church.
She loved decorating, working in her garden and keeping in touch with family and friends.
She was also very involved with her community’s homeowner’s association.
Visitation at Mercer-Adams with family present will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 16.
Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 17, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church with interment in Kingfisher Cemetery.
