Lomega had another comeback fall short.

This time it was against the reigning Class A state champ Seiling.

In a showdown between the No. 1 team in Class A and the No. 1 team in Class B, the Ladycats held off Lomega’s rally Saturday to preserve a 47-43 victory.

Seiling led by 12 in the fourth quarter before getting a heavy dose of Reagan Snowden.

After Seiling took a 45-33 lead in the fourth, Snowden answered with a 3-pointer.

She added another, two free throws and then came away with a steal and layup to get the Lady Raiders within 45-43.

Lomega then had multiple chances to tie or take the lead in the closing minute, but came up empty on each trip.

Keirstin Briggs made 2 of 4 late foul shots to give Seiling a dose of breathing room.

She did the rest of her damage for Seiling in the first three quarters, including a buzzer-beating 3-pointer to give the visitors a 31-24 halftime lead.

She led all scorers with 20 points.

Teagan Hamar was redhot in the first half as she scored 18 points, including five 3-pointers. She didn’t score in the second half.

Snowden scored 19 for Lomega, 10 in the fourth quarter.

The Lady Raiders also got seven from Paige Wheeler and six from Kate Myers.

Lomega shot just 9 of 19 from the free throw line.

The loss moved Lomega to 20-3.

The 20th win came the night before when visiting Timberlake was dealt a 7335 defeat.

Hadley Ott got the offense going with three first-quarter 3-pointers as her team got out to a 1510 lead.

Bree Yost connected on three more treys in the second quarter as part of a 22-6 run. The lead was 21 at the half and 30 points after three quarters.

Ott led the team with 15 while Yost scored 14 and Snowden 10.

Lomega boys down Seiling, Timberlake

The same four players scored in double figures two nights in a row to lead the Lomega Raiders to a pair of wins.

Lance Yost, Jaxson Snowden, Chase Burton and Ben Marsh handled the bulk of the offensive load in Friday’s 63-43 victory over Timberlake and Saturday’s 75-46 win over Seiling.

Against the Tigers, the Raiders made three treys in the first quarter - two by Burton - but none the rest of the night.

They did their damage inside the arc and went 12 of 14 from the foul line.

Marsh had 10 points by halftime as Lomega staked claim to a 32-21 lead.

It grew to 17 points by the end of the third quarter.

Marsh and Yost scored 14 points apiece.

Burton added 13 and Snowden 10.

Lomega again made three treys in the first quarter against Seiling, but this time the Raiders kept knocking them down.

By game’s end, Lomega made 12 as it steadily built on an early 14-point lead.

Yost, Burton and Marsh nailed three 3-pointers apiece.

Yost led the team with 17 while Burton, Marsh and Snowden scored 13 apiece.

Lomega bumped its season record to 16-7 with the pair of victories.
