Kingfisher’s Snider, Cashion’s Shafer named OGBCA All-State

Two Kingfisher County basketball players will represent their respective schools at least one more time.

Kingfisher’s Raegan Snider and Cashion’s Megan Shafer were named to the Oklahoma Girls Basketball Coaches Association All-State teams after tryouts last week.

The announcements were made last Friday.

Snider will be a member of the Middle West team and Shafer the Small West team at the annual OGBCA All-State Games which will be played June 1 at Mustang High School.

The Small West will play the Small East (schools in Classes B, A and 2A) at 1 p.m.

The Middle West battles the Middle East (3A and 4A schools) at 3:30 p.m.

The large school game (5A and 6A) will take place at 2:30 p.m.

Snider played on three state tournament teams and started three seasons during her fouryear KHS career.

She scored 1,227 career points and grabbed 714 career boards.

During her senior campaign, Snider scored 15.6 points and pulled in 7.3 rebounds a contest while adding 1.9 assists.

Snider has signed to play at Northwestern Oklahoma State University.

Shafer was a four-year starter for Andrea Taylor at Cashion.

She finished her career with 1,367 points and 1,000 rebounds.

During her senior season, in which she led Cashion to within one win of the Class 2A state tournament, Shafer averaged 12.7 points and 8.3 rebounds a game.

Shafer shot 48 percent from the field and 68 percent from the free throw line.

She recently signed to continue her career at Tabor College.
