Cashion’s Bronaugh, Kingfisher’s Daugherty provided chance to rep schools again in OBCA All-State games

This weekend’s Oklahoma Baseball Coaches Association All-State games will have a dose of Kingfisher County flavor.
Ian Daugherty of Kingfisher and Nathaniel Bronaugh of Cashion both were selected as OBCA All-State players for their performances during the 2021 season.
Daugherty will play for the Middle West (Classes 3A-4A) when it takes on the Middle East squad at 1 p.m. Sunday, June 6, at David Allen Memorial Ballpark in Enid.
Bronaugh will play for the Small West (Classes B, A and 2A) against the Small East at 7 p.m.
Bronaugh was selected as an outfielder as he helped lead Cashion to a 27-7 record and a spot in the Class 2A state tournament.
It was Cashion’s first time to reach state since 2013 and just the fifth time overall.
The Wildcats lost to eventual state champ Silo in the quarterfinal round.
Bronaugh started and had an RBI double early in that game before the Rebels closed strong.
For the season, he batted .328, drove in 28 runs and scored 26 more.
Of his 42 hits on the season, 16 were for extra bases and he also stole 14 bases.
Bronaugh, who also pitched for the Wildcats, had a .488 on-base percentage and had a .955 fielding percentage as he had just one error during his senior season.
Daugherty was selected as a catcher as he’s among the top recruits in the nation at that position.
The Oklahoma State signee led or was tied for the team lead in nine offensive categories as KHS finished 26-12 and reached the Class 4A state tournament.
Daugherty hit .460, had an on-base percentage of .615 and slugging percentage of .870.
He was tied for the team lead in hits (46) and led the team in doubles (14), triples (3), home runs (7), RBIs (42) and walks (35).
Daugherty scored 34 runs as well.
Of the 19 runners who attempted to steal in more than 125 innings behind the plate, Daugherty threw out 12. He recorded a .953 fielding percentage.
He also went 6-1 on the mound with a 2.28 earned run average.
To earn All-State selections, players first must be chosen to the OBCA AllStar team for their respective class.
Joining Daugherty on the 4A team were teammates Tate Taylor and Brady Friesen.
Class 2A All-Stars included Cashion’s Brexten Green and Hayden Branch as well as Crescent’s Hunter Wilmoth and Baylor Jones.
Earning nods for the 3A All-Star team were Kaden Rapp and Kaden Hawk of Hennessey.
Carson Baustert of Okarche was a Class A AllStar selection.
