Betty Lea Bower
Betty Lea Bower was born Oct. 28, 1932, in Okarche to Fred and Susie Kordis.
She passed away Jan. 22, 2021, at the age of 88, at her residence in Oklahoma City.
Betty was in Kingfisher and graduated from Kingfisher High School. She attended business school in Oklahoma City.
Betty met her husband Brownie, at the snack bar at Imperial Lanes bowling alley.
They later opened Brownie and Betty’s DriveIn and then The Sport Shop.
In her retirement years, she loved all kinds of needlework. She especially loved creating and demonstrating the art of making lace.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, three siblings, and her husband Brownie.
She is survived by her son Wayne and wife Ann of Cashion, her son Dan and wife Lori of Alvarado Texas, her stepdaughters Kay Webster and husband Don of Georgetown Texas, Donna Ballard of Bellevue, Wash., and Tony Judy of Emmett, Idaho.
She is also survived by is granddaughter Hope Poarch and husband Trey of Kingfisher and grandson Brian Bower of Honolulu, Hawaii, and great-grandchildren Ashley and Austin Poarch of Kingfisher/
A graveside service was held at Kingfisher Cemetery on Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2021, at 10 a.m. under the direction of Sanders Funeral Service.
