Derrick C. Sigl
Derrick C. Sigl, 48 died Sunday, January 17th, 2021 at his home in Kingfisher.
Derrick was born Dec. 6, 1972 to Bill Sigl and Linda (Sigl) Westfahl.
He graduated from Kingfisher High School in 1991. After graduation Derrick went to work at Pioneer Telephone Cooperative as a Local Tech at Garber and later Ames.
While in Garber he met and married Michelle Hughes and became a bonus dad to her son, Austin. To that union two children were born, Logan Christopher and Molly Ann. Derrick returned to Kingfisher to farm and raise cattle.
He trained and broke horses for roping and spent many hours with his dad in the arena. He also worked as a farmhand for several local farmers. At the time of his death he was employed by the City of Kingfisher in the Parks Department.
Derrick had a heart of gold and always had a smile on his face. He would give the shirt off his back to help anyone in need. He loved playing darts at the barn with Logan & Molly as well as teaching them how to shoot guns in the pasture. He had a passion for fishing while sitting on a 5 gallon bucket or on his tailgate. Catfish was his favorite. He passed on his fishing skills to Logan.
He loved hanging out with buddies and having a few cold ones. He loved animals, especially his horses, momma cows & baby calves, and all of his dogs, leaving behind his beloved dog, Lucy.
Derrick is survived by his Mom Linda Westfahl (Nick), Brother Brian Sigl (Margo), Sister Desiree’ Smith (Chad), all of Kingfisher. Son Logan Sigl (Alyssa) of Durant and Daughter Molly Sigl of Hennessey, and Grandma Opal Leech of Kingfisher. Grandchildren; Paislee, Kyler, Blaiklee and Kyzer. Nieces Emily, Loren and Brylea and nephew Rhen, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Derrick was preceded in death by his dad Bill Sigl, Grandparents Fred and Marie Sigl, and Gene Leech.
Graveside services for Derrick Sigl were held Tuesday, Jan. 26, at 2 p.m. at Kingfisher Cemetery under the direction of Sanders Funeral Service.
