Rodney Fields
Rodney Lee Fields, 52, peacefully passed away on Dec. 31, 2020, surrounded by loving family in his home.
His passing followed 308 days of battling Stage 4 colon cancer.
Rodney was born July 14, 1968, to Bill and Rowena (Robinson) Fields in Oklahoma City.
He attended Cashion Public Schools, graduating from high school in 1987.
During his years in school, he was actively involved in 4-H and FFA, showing market lambs, serving numerous offices, including FFA president, and always available to assist other members.
Following graduation, he was employed in construction at Storage Systems, living and working in both Oklahoma and Kansas.
Upon moving back to Oklahoma, Rodney opened a body shop in the Del City area.
He was “self taught” and restoration of old vehicles became a lifelong passion of his.
Soon after, he bought property in Crescent, moved his body shop and worked in the maintenance department at Cashion Public Schools.
His next career move was training and employment at Radial Engines for 15 years.
During this time, he married his best friend and the love of his life, Kristy Cook.
Their love story began with a first kiss on New Year’s Eve 1998.
They were married July 28, 2006, and made their home in Crescent.
They shared laughter, love, parenting, grandparenting and all the joy that comes with it.
After leaving radial engines, Rodney was able to focus on his love of sheep.
He and his son, Dalton, began breeding and raising show lambs.
Rodney is survived by his wife Kristy and son Dalton of the home; son Tanner Eakins and wife Ashely; son Joey Streight; daughter Lyndy Streight; six grandchildren, Raelynn, Ivy, Kyzer, Ensley, Olivia and Garner; his mother, Rowena; siblings Debra Hamil and husband Randy, Russell Fields and wife Cindy, Diann Paine, Kim Malone and husband Brett, Robert Fields and wife Deborah, and many loving nieces and nephews.
He also leaves behind his faithful and loving dog, Lucky.
Rodney leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, patience, integrity, honesty and Heaven shines a little brighter because of his presence.
He and Kristy shared a first kiss on New Year’s Even 1998 and they shared their last kiss on New Year’s Eve 2020.
