Melvina Lochner
Melvina Kay (Liebl) Lochner died peacefully in her sleep on June 2, 2020, in Atlanta, Ga.
Mel was born Oct. 14, 1943, in Enid to August “Gus” and Hildred “Midge” (Davis) Liebl and had one older brother, Robert “Bob” Liebl.
Mel grew up on a farm in Loyal and graduated in 1961 from Loyal High School where she played softball and basketball.
She was selected to the Class B all-state tournament basketball team her senior year of high school. She remained an avid fan of college basketball her entire life.
She married Alvin “Buddy” Lochner on Feb. 8, 1964, living most of their lives in Edmond. They had two daughters, Kristine Erin Steward and Kimberly Ann Lochner.
Mel was preceded in death by her parents, brother, husband and daughter, Kristine.
She is survived by her daughter, Kimberly, and four grandchildren who she loved very much.
A funeral mass will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 13, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Edmond followed with a graveside service at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery.
