Kingfisher’s stint at the 2019 state wrestling tournament was short-lived.
Neither of the Jackets’ two qualifiers was able to come away with a win last Friday at State Fair Arena.
Senior Stone Snodgrass was pinned 21 seconds into his 138-pound quarterfinal match with Salina’s Austin Wilkins.
Snodgrass then lost his consolation match in 1:17 to Comanche’s Trevor Cusumano.
Snodgrass was a regional runner-up.
He pinned Marlow’s Kobey Kizarr in the first period of the semifinals of that regional.
Kizarr eventually finished third at the regional, then won all three of his matches at state to be crowned the 138-pound champ
At 182 pounds, KHS junior Blake Neal was defeated 8-4 by Morrison’s Hayden Fry in a wrestle-in match.
