Cashion squads knocked out in 2A regional
Cashion’s run of state tournament appearances has ended at four. The Lady Wildcats were defeated 51-42 by Carnegie in last Friday’s 2A regional consolation semifinal at Hinton. Cashion was led by Neeley Bedick’s 15 points. Brook Shelly added 11 and Kaitin Taylor six. The loss gave Cashion a 15-11 record. Cashion was a runner-up in last year’s 2A bracket as well as in 2016. The Lady Wildcats were semifinalists in 2017.
Wildcats eliminated
The Cashion boys also saw their season put to a halt on Friday. They were knocked out after their 67-54 defeat at the hands of Hobart in Hinton. Hobart got out to a 19-7 lead after a quarter and the Wildcats never could close the gap. Alex Nabavi paced Cash-ion with 18 points. Jonah Jenkins and Jacob Woody scored 11 apiece. Cashion finished with a 16-10 record.
