Dover put the defensive clamps on yet another team.

The Longhorns downed Garber 43-33 on the road Tuesday night for their 11th straight win.

Ranked 10th in Class B, Dover enters the holiday break with an 11-1 record.

The 33 points is Garber’s lowest point total of the season. Its previous low was 49.

Only one opponent has eclipsed 40 points this season. That was Crescent, which fell 51-41 to the Longhorns on Dec. 7. That was also the Tigers’ lowest point total of the season to date.

Dover was stingy early as it gave up just one field goal and four points in the first quarter.

Jonah Pendergraft matched that by himself. That plus 3-pointers from Casen Buck and Lucas Conrady allowed Dover to take a 12-4 lead.

Conrady added another trey in the second quarter and Pendergraft scored seven more to help Dover take a 26-15 lead into the break.

Colton Steinert made two 3-pointers in that second quarter for Garber.

He stayed warm with three more in the second half and scored 18 on the night.

However, the rest of the Wolverines struggled to contribute.

After Garber cut its deficit to single digits entering the fourth, Buck came through with seven points in the final quarter to help secure the win.

Pendergraft led the Longhorns with 17 while Buck scored 12 and Conrady nine.

Dover returns to the court Jan. 7 when it travels to Medford.

Garber hands Dover girls biggest loss of season The Lady Longhorns had their roughest outing of the year as they were defeated 61-21 by Garber.

The point total was Dover’s lowest of the year by 15 points.

The Lady Wolverines had no such issues scoring as they jumped to a 16-8 lead and pushed it to 36-14 by halftime.

There was no catching up for Dover, which had just one field goal in the second half.

Garber was led by Chloe Wilkerson’s 18 points. Nevaeh Fincher chipped in 14.

Dover got nine points from Joi Caldwell and five from Madison Goodwin.

The Lady Longhorns are now 7-5.
