Yost toasts Broncs as Lomega gets road sweep

A second-half eruption allowed Lomega to outscore Kremlin-Hillsdale 79-62 Tuesday night for a road victory.

Down by two at the half, Lomega scored 49 points in the second half.

That included 26 points in the third quarter, one that saw Ben Marsh erupt with five 3-pointers.

That was the one frame in which Lance Yost was relatively quiet with his lone trey.

He was on fire the rest of the night.

The junior guard scored at least seven points in every other quarter.

With Lomega up by eight entering the fourth, Yost made sure the Raiders came home with a victory.

He made four 3-pointers in the fourth quarter.

Jaxson Snowden added seven more points in the frame.

Yost ended his night with nine treys as part of his 35 points.

Marsh scored 18, all on 3-pointers, and Snowden scored 15 points.

The Raiders, who started the year 1-3, were 6-4 after the win.

They hosted Cherokee Friday night (after press time) to wrap up their pre-holiday slate.

Lady Raiders blitz Kremlin-Hillsdale, 80-33 Class B’s No. 1 team made 14 3-pointers as Lomega toppled Kremlin-Hillsdale 80-33 on the road Tuesday.

The treys came from eight different players, led by four from Paige Wheeler.

The junior made all of her 3-pointers in the first half and had seven points in the second quarter when Lomega broke the game open with a 28-6 run.

Wheeler finished with 15 points.

The second-quarter outburst allowed Lomega to take a 44-16 lead.

It grew to 61-24 by the end of the third quarter.

Raegan Snowden added 14 points for the Lady Raiders.

Aliana Lawson chipped in 11 and Hadley Ott 10.

Ott was won of three Lomega players to make two treys. She was joined by Claire Myers and Bree Yost.

The victory upped Lomega’s season mark to 9-1. It was Lomega’s fourth straight win.
