New foes for season opener

Kingfisher High School opens its basketball season at home this Tuesday, Dec. 3.

However, it’s a different opponent than originally scheduled.

KHS will host Merritt as the girls tip off at 6:30 p.m. and the boys at approximately 8 p.m.

The teams were originally slated to host OKC Storm, but it was determined the Storm did not have a girls’ team this season, prompting Kingfisher to seek another opponent.

Merritt’s girls are the defending 2A state champs while the boys team also reached state last season.
