Okarche gets lopsided wins over Harding Fine Arts
The Harding Fine Arts boys basketball team is much improved over recent years.
But it still has a long way to go to catch up with Okarche.
The Warriors used dominant first and third quarters Tuesday to down the Firehawks 76-32 on homecoming night.
In movingto2-1, Okarche outscored its guests a combined 51-17 in those two quarters.
The Warriors’ pressure proved an issue for the Firehawks as 42 turnovers resulted in 48 Okarche points.
Four Warriors scored in double figures, led by Jett Mueggenborgs’ 17 points. Wyatt Pinkerton added 15 while Hunter Mueggenborg and Easton Roby scored 13 and 11, respectively.
Lady Warriors grab 1st win
It took longer than usual, but the Okarche girls are officially in the win column.
They got there with Tuesday’s 63-7 win over Harding Fine Arts.
Coming off losses to Preston and Lomega, Okarche held the Lady Firehawks scoreless in the first half in building a 44-0 advantage.
Eleven different Okarche players scored at least two points.
The team was led by Katy Creswell’s 15. She made four 3-pointers, including three in the first quarter.
Ruby VanDenDriessche added 11 points for the Lady Warriors.
