Cashion golfers finish 8th at 2A state
Community Christian handily won the Class 2A boys state golf championship while Cashion wound up eighth in the two-day tournament.
The Wildcats shot 334 on their final round Tuesday at Lake Hefner Golf Club in Oklahoma City.
Combined with Monday’s 323 and 329, Cashion finished at 986.
The team was seventh after the first day, but Thomas closed with a 325 to finish at 983 and pass up Cashion in the final team standings.
Community Christian fired off rounds of 297, 289 and 289 to shoot 875, beating runner-up Latta by 26 strokes.
Community Christian’s Callin Bond was an astounding 19-under-par for the tournament with his rounds of 67, 63 and 67 to win the individual title.
Max Brown paced Cashion with a 233. He closed with an 81 after Monday’s rounds of 73 and 79.
Camden Maroney shot rounds of 79, 77 and 81 for a 237.
Holten Aaron finished at 244 with rounds of 79, 83 and 82.
Ashton Moore was at 272 after he shot 92, 90 and 90.
Kam Miller progressed each round as he shot 103, 96 and 95 for a 294.
