Okarche dominates district foes

Okarche put on a dominant showing last week to play its way into a Class A regional.
The Warriors throttled foes by a combined 31-1 in three games to claim a district title on their home field.
The clincher was an 8-0 victory over Wellston on Friday.
That came after the Warriors put themselves in prime position with Thursday’s victories of 9-1 against Wellston and 14-0 over Coyle.
The district title sends Okarche to Dewar for this week’s regional.
One team will emerge from the four-team, dou- ble-elimination bracket and into next week’s state tournament.
The 13th-ranked Warriors are one of three ranked teams in the regional.
They’ll play No. 20 Drummond at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in their opener.
Host Dewar is ranked fourth in the class.
The regional will begin with the host Dragons taking on Fletcher.
