Cashion splits home contests with Minco
Jackson Vandruff proved too much for Minco to handle.
The Cashion senior scored 24 points Tuesday to lift the Wildcats to a 5854 win at home.
The Wildcats built an eight-point lead in the first quarter, but let much of it get away by halftime.
The teams kept it close throughout much of the second half.
Chance Acord added 13 for Cashion while Kamden Miller scored eight.
Cashion girls dealt first loss
Cashion took a fourpoint lead into the fourth quarter last Tuesday, but couldn’t maintain it.
The Lady Wildcats were outscored by seven and dealt their first loss of the season, 47-42, at home to Minco.
After a tie game at the half, Cashion outscored the Lady Bulldogs 14-10 in the third, but was held to just eight fourth-quarter points.
Lauren Jenkins scored 18 points and Megan Shafer 14, but the rest of the team mustered just 10 points.
The loss put Cashion at 1-1 entering the tournament in Garber.
