Shelby Pennel

A funeral service to celebrate the life of Shelby Nuzum-Pennel was Saturday, May 21, at Wilson Funeral Home. Burial followed in the El Reno Cemetery.

Shelby was born Dec. 11, 1955, in El Reno to Roy and Margie Nuzum and passed away May 9, 2022, in Oklahoma City at the age of 66.

Shelby graduated from El Reno High School in 1974.

She worked various jobs throughout her life including, J.C. Penney, Dave Markly Ford and Bostick Motors.

She most recently worked at Rick Jones, where she was employed for 33 years. She made many friends while working there and enjoyed the time spent while at work.

On Nov. 11, 2011, Shelby married the love of her life, Jeff Pennel. Shelby and Jeff enjoyed every minute they spent together.

Shelby will be greatly missed by her family and all of her friends, who she considered family as well.

She is survived by her husband, Jeff Pennel; brothers, Warren Criss Nuzum and wife Kathy and Brian Wayne Nuzum and wife Selina; uncle BK Nuzum; sons Justin Dean Pennel and wife Dawn and Colton Shane Pennel; grandchildren, Harley and Samantha Pennel; and many other beloved family members and close friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Margie Nuzum.
