Ridenour, Reese nab top OBCA honors
Kingfisher’s Kitchens, Cashion’s Jenkins also earn district selections

The balance of Kingfisher High School’s basketball team has been evident in the number of different players to receive postseason honors.
The latest is junior Xavier Ridenour who earlier this week was named the Oklahoma Basketball Coaches Association District 1 Player of the Year.
The district covers nearly 75 schools in Kingfisher, Logan, Canadian, Blaine, Custer, Dewey, Ellis, Woodward, Major, Harper, Beaver, Texas, Cimarron, Woods, Alfalfa, Grant and Garfield counties.
Ridenour was the leading scorer on a team that went 28-1 and won the Class 4A state championship.
He averaged 13.7 points, 2.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 2.0 steals per game along the way.
Kingfisher’s Jared Reese was also named the district’s coach of the year.
The state title was Kingfisher’s fourth since 2017.
During that six-season stretch, KHS is 163-8 (.953).
Two other county players were named to the 12-person all-district team, including one of Ridenour’s teammates.
Named to the squad were Kingfisher’s Caden Kitchens and Cashion’s Jonah Jenkins.
A junior, Kitchens averaged 10.1 points, 5.8 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 1.9 steals for the Jackets.
Jenkins, a senior, averaged 12.3 points, 3.4 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game as Cashion went 24-6 and advanced to the Class 2A state championship.
Jenkins earlier was named to the Oklahoma Coaches Association All-State team.
