Watonga girls escape Cashion with win

Cashion’s bid for an upset came up just short.
Despite going scoreless for the first half of the final quarter, 2A’s 15th-ranked Watonga held off the Lady Wildcats 60-54 on Tuesday.
Cashion took a 31-29 halftime lead, but the Lady Eagles were sparked by Aubrey Bridges in the third and secured a five-point lead.
Bridges eventually scored 25 points.
It helped offset three Lady Wildcats in double figures.
Lauren Lamb paced the team with 16 points.
Morgan Shaefer added 15 and Lauren Jenkins 11.
Cashion ended its regular season at 12-11. The Lady Wildcats were 4-3 in conference games.
Watonga is 17-5 and 6-1. The Lady Eagles finished second behind Okarche in the conference’s regular season race.
