Okarche pulls off softball upset

Okarche softball pulled off one big upset Thursday and nearly got another.

The Lady Warriors stunned No. 7 Binger-Oney 7-1 to open their Class A regional in Binger.

Okarche then dropped a narrow 6-5 decision to No. 9 Cheyenne in the winner’s bracket game.

The Lady Warriors remained alive in the double-elimination bracket.

They played Binger-Oney again Friday in an elimination game, then would need two wins over Cheyenne to advance to state.

All Friday games were after press time.

••• Dover’s season came to an end in its Class B regional Thursday.

The Lady Longhorns were defeated 10-0 by No. 1 Stuart and then eliminated with a 12-2 loss to Carney.
