Okarche, Cashion golfers advance to girls regional
All six full teams and six more individuals advanced beyond the Class 2A girls golf regional qualifier held Tuesday at Kingfisher Golf Course.
Among the teams advancing was Okarche, which shot a 525, as well as two individuals from Cashion.
The top six teams - and ties - along with the top six individuals - and ties - advance from each qualifier to the regional tournament.
The Kingfisher regional was originally set to host nine full teams, but three of them opted out.
Turner won the tournament with a 329.
The Lady Falcons had the three best scores of the tournament as Josey Cavitt shot a 75 and Jaci Hartman a 77.
Teammate Hope Hill shot an 86 as did Amber-Pocasset’s Kylee Smith.
Other team scores saw Christian Heritage shoot a 374, Amber-Pocasset a 439, Frederick a 454 and Davis a 464.
Okarche was led by Scout Payne’s 127.
Ryen Wittrock added a 131, Harper White a 133, Emily Neuenschwander a 134 and Cassye Mayo a 141.
Individuals who advanced for Cashion were Taylor Rouse and Reece Patterson.
Rouse carded a 106 and Patterson a 111.
Other individual qualifiers were Teddie Hooker of Burlington (96), Kaylee Roberts of Walters (104), Avery Wharton of Wilson (104) and Ashlynn Spurlock of Temple (110).
Those who qualified played this week at the regional at Falconhead Golf Course at Burneyville.
