New-look Raiders successful in opener at Dover
Kelby Ott helped Lomega open the flood gates early and then slammed the door on Dover late.
The Lomega junior scored 21 points last Friday to help boost the Raiders to a 61-38 road win over the Longhorns.
Ott knocked down two of Lomega’s four first-quarter 3-pointers as they took a commanding 18-6 lead.
He then made two more treys and scored 10 points in the fourth as Lomega continued to pull away.
The Raiders outscored Dover in all but the second quarter.
That stretch saw the Longhorns cut their deficit to 28-19 at the half.
Kolten Shaw scored nine points in the second to keep Dover in it.
However, he was limited to four points in the second half.
Shaw ended his night with 15 while Lance Dunigan scored 11.
Ott scored 21 for the Raiders, who had to replace four starters from last year’s state tournament team.
Blake Snowden, the lone returning starter, scored 13.
Brooks Uhlenhake added 10 and Kade Shaloy eight.
“He really made a lot of plays on both ends for us,” coach Justin Edsall said of Shaloy.
