Matthews, Snider lead KHS past Chickasha, 50-28
After three quarters of action last Tuesday night, Chickasha’s girls basketball team had scored 16 points.
Kingfisher’s Addy Matthews had netted 17.
Unfortunately for the host Lady Chicks, Matthews had plenty of help as the Lady Jackets ran away with a 50-28 victory.
Kingfisher dominated the first and third quarters as Chickasha managed two combined field goals in those 16 minutes.
Matthews, meanwhile, was busy knocking down shots from all over.
She had three 3-pointers in the game and also helped Kingfisher take advantage of Chickasha’s 22 turnovers.
KHS scored 19 points off the miscues and had 28 points in the paint overall.
A big number of those came from Raegan Snider, who finished with 12 points.
KHS led 14-4 after a quarter.
The Lady Jackets were largely quiet in the second as Matthews and Snider combined for all nine points and the Lady Chicks were able to trim their deficit by a point.
Then came a 12-2 run in the third quarter as Kingfi sher put the game away.
Matthews did all her scoring in the first three frames.
She also led the team along with Emily Myers - with seven rebounds.
Myers added four points and four assists on her night.Peyton Walker dropped in eight points she was 2 of 3 from 3-point range - and added five assists.
The win was Kingfisher’s sixth straight as it moved to 7-1 overall and 3-1 in the Western Conference.
