Lomega splits with DCLA on homecoming
Kate Myers scored nine points and earned a crown last Friday night.
Myers was announced as the Lomega High School homecoming queen prior to her team’s matchup with Deer Creek-Lamont.
The Lady Raiders followed up the coronation with an 89-17 victory, their ninth straight.
This one was over practically before it began.
Lomega jumped to a 28-1 lead in the first quarter and continued to build on it.
Myers was one of 13 Lomega players to score.
The team was led by Reagan Snowden’s 21 points while Paige Wheeler scored 10.
Myers was joined by Bree Yost in scoring nine points while Jenny Penaran added eight.
Lomega was 14-1 after the win, which includes a 4-0 record in Cherokee Strip Conference games.
DCLA earns 74-58 victory over Raiders
DCLA’s boys weren’t in such a giving mood.
They foiled Lomega’s homecoming fun as well as the Raiders’ five-game win streak as they took home a 74-58 victory.

That included four 3-pointers from Braden Bledsoe and two more from Brice Bledsoe.
The Eagles turned their deficit into a 60-45 lead and Lomega couldn’t recover.
Lance Yost did his best to pull Lomega out of the deficit with two treys and eight points in the fourth quarter.
Jaxson Snowden added five more in the fourth, but they were the only two Raiders to score in the final frame.
Brice Bledsoe led all scorers with 30 points while Braden Bledsoe added 17.
Yost paced the Raiders with 24 points. Snowden scored 13.
