Lomega dominant in Cherokee road sweep
Lomega got in some matinee basketball before the Christmas break.
The Raider teams hit the road last Friday afternoon and brought home a Cherokee Strip Conference sweep.
The Lady Raiders won their 10th straight with an 83-51 victory.
The Lomega boys got their sixth win in seven games with an 84-33 triumph.
Senior Abby Swart torched the nets for 29 points in the girls’ win.
She made nine of Lomega’s 13 total 3-pointers.
Lomega got up 28-16 after a quarter and led by 22 at the break.
Swart made three treys in both the first and fourth quarters.
Freshman Bree Yost added 13 points as the thirdranked Lady Raiders improved to 10-1. She scored all of her points in the first half.
Chase Burton had a big first quarter and Ben Marsh a massive second frame in the Raiders’ victory.
Burton made a pair of treys and scored eight points as Lomega jumped to a 23-8 advantage.
The Raiders erupted for 30 points in the second quarter as Marsh scored 16 points, including a trio of treys.
Lomega was up 32 points by halftime and - like the Lady Raiders - made 13 total 3-pointers.
Marsh scored 21 as his team improved to 7-4.
Burton added 14 while Lance Yost scored 13.
