Lomega, Cashion runners wrap up XC season at 2A state meet
By the time the Class 2A cross country teams took to the Edmond Santa Fe High School course on Saturday, the conditions had deteriorated.
It went from cold and soggy to cold, soggy and raining for the final two races of the day.
In the girls competition, Lomega finished 16th with 380 team points.
Top-ranked Hooker completed its spectacular season by winning state for a third straight year and by scoring just 29 points.
Claire Myers led Lomega’s contingent by finishing in 59th (40th).
She ran the course in 13:58.86.
Also scoring for Lomega were Kate Myers (41st), Monse Rivera (94th), Averi Walker (105th) and Hadley Ott (107th).

In Class 2A boys, Cashion’s Luke Baustert paced the county contingent.
Baustert was 19th out of 156 runners and completed the 5,000 meter trek in 17:37.83.
His teammate Gage Bedick was 26th overall in 17:50.48.
Lomega qualified as a team and finished 21st overall.
Austin Chestnut was the first Raider to cross the line and did so in 19:55.15. He was 101st overall and 80th among scoring runners.
