Leopards stop HHS in regional
Hennessey’s offense was good in the second half.
Lindsay’s was better. The Leopards used that advantage Friday night to eliminate the Eagles 70-54 in a Class 3A regional consolation semifinal at the Eagle Event Center.
The loss saw Hennessey’s season end with a 12-15 record.
The Eagles kept themselves in it with the long ball in the first half.
Hagen Copeland made two treys in the first quarter, Braedyn Richardson added two of his own in the second and Hunter Weber also added one in the half.
Lindsay only made one from outside the arc in the half, but still led 28-27.
The Leopards then doubled up Hennessey in the third quarter.
Their 22-11 advantage saw them stake a 12-point lead entering the fourth.
Lindsay’s Hunter Russell made two 3-pointers to open the fourth to help ensure there would be no Eagle comeback.
Russell scored 16 of his game-high 21 in the second half.
Camdyn Richardson scored 12 in the second half for Hennessey and finished with 18.
Braedyn Richardson made four treys overall and scored 14 points.
Copeland finished with nine.
