    Kay Lynn Davis

Kay Lynn Davis, 79, of Billings, passed away peacefully on March 2, 2025. Born on Jan. 14, 1946, to Martin Daniel Kingery and Ellen Fern Holmes Kingery, Kay grew up in Billings, where she always maintained she had a perfect childhood.

Kay had a lifelong passion for sports, with basketball being her favorite, though she enjoyed softball as well.

In school, she excelled in science and English, though she would be the first to admit that math was never her strong suit.

Her first job was plowing fields on her family’s farm for her father, instilling in her the value of hard work that would follow her throughout her life.

Kay’s life changed forever when she met Richard “Dick” Davis. It was love at first sight and after their first date, she knew he was the one she would marry.

The couple wed on Dec. 29, 1967, at the Billings Christian Church and built a beautiful life together until Richard’s passing in June 2024.

As a devoted mother to her three sons - Monty, John and Robert Davis Kay often said that motherhood was her greatest joy.

She was raised in the Methodist Church, which provided a foundation for her faith throughout her life.

Kay lived by the philosophy that “attitude is everything.” She firmly believed that with a good attitude, success would follow, and she approached life’s challenges with this positive mindset.

She often expressed how fortunate she felt to have the loving support of her family and friends.

Kay was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard “Dick” Davis; her parents, Martin and Ellen Kingery; and her brother, John Kingery.

Viewing will be held Wednesday, March 5, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Smith-Gallo Funeral Home located at 220 North 1st Street in Guthrie.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, March 6, at Cashion Methodist Church in Cashion. Interment will follow at Union Cemetery in Billings. Services are under the direction of Smith-Gallo Funeral Home, Guthrie.
