Jackets win 1 in Shed Classic
Kingfisher was able to salvage a win on the final day of the Shed Classic baseball tournament hosted at Homier Field.
The Jackets closed out the tournament Saturday with a 12-2 run-rule victory over Vici.
That came after a trio of losses on the tournament’s first two days.
KHS was shutout 11-0 by Guthrie then defeated 11-1 by Vici on Thursday.
The Jackets came back Friday and were defeated 15-2 by Heritage Hall.
Tate Barton got the win on Saturday as he threw all five innings.
Barton surrendered three hits and struck out four.
He didn’t give up a run until the bottom of the third inning.
By that time, KHS had posted him to a five-run lead.
An RBI sacrifice from Isa-iah Medellin and run-scoring single off James Perdue’s bat got KHS on the board in the first inning.
Perdue returned to the plate in the third with the bases loaded.
His squeeze bunt resulted in both Medellin and Brayden States crossing home plate.
Dallen Barton added an RBI single in the fourth and a run-scoring double during a four-run fifth.
Perdue finished 3 of 4 with 4 RBIs.
Tate Barton was 3 for 3 and scored three times. Dallen Barton had two hits, 2 RBIs and scored twice.
Slade Snodgrass crossed home three times for the Jackets.
