Cheer regionals announced

Local competitive cheer teams will get their shot at reaching state later this month.

The OSSAA cheer regionals will be held at two locations Saturday, Sept. 18.

Cashion and Crescent will be taking part in the 2A regional at Chickasha.

Joining them will be Dibble, Alex, Elmore City, Haworth, Weleetka and Geary.

The 2A competition begins at 10 a.m.

Kingfisher will compete in the 4A regional at Stroud.

Also taking part will be Sallisaw, Westville, Stigler, Bristow, Eufaula, Inola and Hilldale.

The 4A meet begins at 12:30 p.m.

Each regional champion and runner-up will automatically qualify for state, which will be held Sept. 25.

Any other team that scores at least 75 out of a possible 100 points will also qualify for state.

Coaches and spectators will be required to wear masks at all times.

Cheerleaders are required to wear masks except while on competition floor.

Tickets are $7 and will be sold online only (visit ossaa. com for purchasing information). No tickets will able to be purchased at the site.
