Cashion cruises in conference clashes
Cashion showed no signs of a letdown after last weekend’s tournament championship.
Just a few days removed from winning the tournament at Garber, the Wildcats opened Three Rivers Conference play last Tuesday with a 77-50 victory at Thomas.
The win moved Cash-ion, ranked 12th in Class 2A, to 4-0 on the season.
Alex Nabavi made his season debut and the senior guard poured in 15 points.
Nabavi missed the tournament because Cashion’s football team was still active in the playoffs.
Jacob Woody led the way with 24.
Cashion also got nine points from Jonah Jenkins and eight from Vance Raney.
The Wildcats got out to a 25-13 lead and were never threatened.
Up 15 after three quarters, Cashion outscored Thomas 25-14 in the fourth.
Lady Wildcats bounce
back from loss
Three players scored in double figures as Cashion steadily pulled away from Thomas in a conference road win last Tuesday.
Cashion outscored its hosts in every quarter to knock off the Lady Terriers 57-34.
Coming off its lone loss of the season, Cashion improved to 3-1 overall and 1-0 in Three Rivers Conference contests.
Sophomore guard Lauren Lamb led the team with 18 points.
Junior Neeley Tilley-Bedick added 14 and Kaitin Taylor scored 13.
Up by four after a quarter, Cashion used a 16-7 run to extend the lead to double digits by halftime.
The Lady Wildcats then outscored Thomas 30-18 in the second half.
