Cashion’s Cotter lands on All-State baseball squad
Led ‘Cats in most offensive categories
Cashion’s most productive offensive player is now an All-State selection.
Senior Preston Cotter was announced Thursday as a member of the Oklahoma Baseball Coaches Association All-State team.
He’ll play for the Small West when it plays members of the Small East at the annual OBCA All-State Games Sunday, June 4.
The small school teams consist of Classes 2A, A and B.
That game is slated for 4 p.m. at Enid’s David Allen Memorial Ballpark.
Cotter led the Wildcats in most offensive categories as he led his team to the Class 2A semifinals and a 29-8 record.
Along the way, he batted .434 and had an on-base percentage of .574.
He collected 41 hits, 11 doubles, 10 home runs and drove in 53 runs.
Those numbers either led or tied for the team lead in each category.
Cotter also scored 41 runs on the season.
He was one of seven county players named to the OBCA All-Star teams for their respective classes.
Making the 3A team were Seth Simunek, Sebastian Gonzalez and Langston Smith of Hennessey.
Class A all-stars were Landon Weeres, Landon Goble and Jake Hendrickson of Okarche.
