5 pick up OBCA Academic All-State selections

A handful of senior basketball players from Kingfisher County were recently recognized for their excellence off the court.

Five local players were named Academic All-State by the Oklahoma Basketball Coaches Association.

Named to the team were Nick Nabavi, Jonah Jenkins and Landon LaGasse of Cashion; Trenton Neiderer of Okarche; and Emory Norton of Dover.

There were 126 nominations statewide for the honor.

To be considered, student-athletes must have scored a minimum of 24 on the ACT.
