Funeral services for Joe Feely, 74, were Tuesday, June 11, at the Burlington High School Auditorium with Pastor Chris Ruwaldt officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home, Alva.

Joe Grant Feely, son of Grant Earl and Lora Cora (Francis) Feely, was born March 21, 1950, at Enid.

He passed away peacefully surrounded by family June 7, 2024, at Alva.

Joe was raised in the Manchester area and graduated from Wakita High School with the Class of 1968.

He furthered his education at Northwestern Oklahoma State University, receiving his bachelor’s degree in education in 1973 and completing his master’s in educational administration in 1986.

He met his future wife while attending Northwestern and on Jan. 6, 1972, he was united in marriage to Dianna Davis at Ponca City First Baptist Church.

During his career, he taught and coached at many Oklahoma schools including Drummond, Dover and Burlington.

He served as principal at Burlington while teaching and coaching from 19841998.

Joe was the NWOSU head women’s basketball coach from 1998-2002 be-fore serving a year as the Physical Education Chair until 2003.

He returned to the Burlington school system and was head boys basketball coach for a few years. He finished his career at Burlington as principal, retiring in 2011.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Joe is survived by his wife of 52 years, Dianna of Alva; his son Truckee Shane Feely and wife Kiley of Okeene; his daughter Jodee Layne Kelln and husband Jake of Alva; five grandchildren, Jackson Feely, Hudson Feely, Jaycee Kelln, Lincoln Feely and Jett Kelln; his brother, Greg Feely and wife Gail of Manchester; his sister, Marilyn Riley of Enid; nephews, nieces, other relatives and many friends.

Memorial contributions in Joe’s name may be made through the funeral home to the Northwestern Foundation.
