Jack Foster
Jack L. Foster, 91, passed away on July 2, 2024, in Lakewood, Colo.
Born on May 28, 1933, in Kingfisher, he is survived by his wife Darlene Foster; his daughters Judy Ann Prescott of Albuquerque, N.M., and Jill Lynn Maguire of Austin, Texas; and grandsons Hayden Prescott and Max Maguire.
After high school, Jack joined the U.S. Navy. He served on the USS Hugh Purvis, USS Fessenden and the USS Cogswell.
Since he was skilled with numbers, he served as a disbursing clerk on his destroyers. While on the USS Cogswell, he patrolled the Taiwan Strait.
Jack received a bachelor’s degree in geology from Oklahoma State University and a master’s in mathematics from the University of Central Oklahoma.
During his lifetime he was a geologist, teacher, rancher and farmer.
Jack was an outdoorsman. He became a skilled bird hunter and fisherman.
He was also an avid reader of novels and never missed an issue of the local newspaper.
He was a loving husband and father and will be greatly missed.
