Arthur Joseph Meyer went to be with the Lord on July 8, 2024, at the age of 87.

He was born on Oct. 27, 1936, to Edward and Margaret Meyer.

He grew up in Okarche, where he graduated from Holy Trinity High School in 1955. He served in the National Guard for three years. Art met and married Margaret Ann Duke in Oklahoma City.

He lived in Okarche his entire life with the exception of the past year when he moved to Purcell to be with family.

Art worked for Kingfisher County Feed Yards for 39 years and then retired from Temtrol after 15 more years of service.

During all this time of employment, he was also a full-time farmer and rancher.

He was also a lifelong member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, a member of the Knights of Columbus, a member of the Parish Council and Okarche Lions Club.

Art is survived by his son Travis Meyer and wife Charlotte of Purcell; sister Josephine Benda of Kingfisher; and one brother, Edward Meyer, of Oklahoma City.

Art was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Leo Meyer, Lavern Hauenstein and Pauline Meyer.

Graveside service was Thursday, July 11, at Holy Trinity Cemetery under the direction of Sanders Funeral Service.

The family has asked to make any donations in Art’s memory to The Center Family of Love in Okarche.
