Continuing light rain keeping county soggy
Light showers over the past four days kept conditions soggy across Kingfisher County.
Kingfisher Weather Observer Steve Loftis recorded a total of .6 inch of rain from Saturday through 7 a.m. Tuesday, falling as follows: Saturday .04 inch; Sunday, .06 inch; Monday, .15 inch, and Tuesday, .35 inch.
All weather readings are taken at 7 a.m. for the preceding 24 hours.
Mesonet readings for the four day period included: Kingfisher, .57; Watonga, .27; El Reno, .32; Guthrie, .54 and Marshall, .74.
Kingfisher County Agricultural educator Bryan Kennedy estimated he received three-quarters of an inch at his residence west of Hennessey Monday night alone.
Jack Witt, northwest of Dover reported .3 inch on Tuesday morning.
Kingfisher Times and Free Press staff member Robin Johnston, who also lives northwest of Dover reported 1.6 inches of rain last Wednesday evening, prior to the arrival of an ice storm that closed some schools.
Storms brought hail to northern portions of the county, as well as the southern portions, as reported in Sunday’s paper.
