Kingfisher Chamber of Commerce Director Shauna Rupp (not pictured) discussed upcoming chamber events with Kingfisher Lions Club members on Thursday. Chief among them was the events taking place in town on July 4. That includes the downtown parade at 10 a.m. and then events at Kingfisher Park beginning at noon and ending with the fireworks show at dark. The park events include the annual turtle races, which are hosted by the Lions Club, beginning at 4 p.m. Rupp also discussed the benefits of civic groups joining the Chamber of Commerce membership. Afterward, Lions Club members voted for the civic club to become a chamber member. Read moreMore than two dozen local students have been inching closer to their driver’s licenses this summer. Twenty-eight have been taking part in driver’s education courses offered in Kingfisher. The courses are taught by Doug Jech and T.J. Harris. They include 30 hours of classroom instruction and then six hours of driving instruction.
