Cashion High School was well-represented at last weekend’s annual Classic Bowl in Woodward. The week of activities includes girls and boys basketball games and is capped with a football game at the end of the week. Cheerleaders and band members (as well as athletes) from northwest Oklahoma, southwest Kansas and the Texas panhandle are invited to take part. Those representing Cashion included, from left: front row, Kyler George, Brexten Green, Lauren Jenkins, Bella Butler, Evan Ratcliff, Averee Gray and Reese Williams; and back row, Jaidyn Hudson, Raylee Nance, Baylie Frazier, Zoe Slimp, Bailey Garrett, Caden Harrell. Not pictured are Neely Tilley-Bedick, who played basketball, and honor squad cheerleader Allison Smith. Cashion’s cheer squad was voted by all the squads to have displayed “best sportsmanship and best attitudes” throughout the week. Read moreThe 2020-21 fast-pitch season has long been over, but Kingfisher’s Olivia Wilcox isn’t done pulling in honors from the sport. Wilcox was recently named an Academic All-State selection by the Oklahoma Fast-Pitch Softball Coaches Association. The recent KHS graduate has signed to play at Mid-America Christian University. She carried a 4.0 GPA and was one of the Class of 2021’s valedictorians. She was a member of the National Honor Society and Oklahoma Honor Society, among many other activities. In softball, Wilcox was Kingfisher’s top pitcher and earned all-conference honors three years and was all-district her senior season. Wilcox was also a part of Kingfisher’s state runner-up girls golf team in the spring.
