Mollie Gentry
Mollie Faye Gentry was born to Clifford and Lafaye (Ramsey) Crone on Aug. 17, 1946, in Winnfield, La.
She passed away Dec. 13, 2021, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center in Enid where she was surrounded by family.
She attended Winnfield High School and was an active basketball player and played the piano.
After graduating high school, she went to a trade school where she took secretarial classes.
She loved to call Louisiana her home state. She enjoyed basketball and cheered for LSU any chance she could.
While still in Winnfield, Mollie began writing back and forth with a Navy man that ended up being the love of her life.
She married Leslie Gentry of Crescent on Aug. 15, 1969, and moved and lived on a farm west of Crescent.
She enjoyed and loved the farm life.
Mollie raised three children on that farm: Tim, Tammy and Toni.
She was active with the First Baptist Church where she helped and enjoyed planning dinners, sang in the choir and helped out anywhere she was needed.
Mollie was preceded in death by her parents, infant son and husband.
She is survived by her three children, Tim Gentry of Oklahoma City, Tammy Reed of Crescent and Toni Shipley of Crescent, and seven grandchildren.
The grandkids loved her Louisiana accent and will cherish that.
Services were Tuesday, Dec. 21, at the First Baptist Church.
