KHS girls’ hot start leads to easy win
The Kingfisher girls contest at Newcastle was the exact opposite of the boys in regards to the amount of drama it provided.
Kingfisher showed no signs of a letdown after the previous weekend’s tournament win by blowing out Newcastle 79-26 on the road.
KHS scored the game’s first 22 points and led 58-12 at halftime.
The Lady Jackets forced an average of 22 turnovers during the Cleveland tournament and bettered that trend at Newcastle.
The Lady Racers coughed it up 25 times, which led to 35 KHS points.
Addy Matthews led to the hot start with six early points and eight in the first quarter. She finished her night with 14 points and five steals.
Rayland Garner added seven points in the first en route to 13 points.
Allison Green made her first four 3-point attempts and then ended the half with another trey.

Emily Myers added another 11 for KHS.
The win was Kingfisher’s fourth straight as the Lady Jackets moved to 5-1 overall.
