Waukomis earns home sweep over Dover squads
Dover returned to action Tuesday for the first time in 11 days and was denied its chance to get a win streak going.
The Longhorns were downed 57-32 at Waukomis.
After scoring 12 points in the first quarter, Dover didn’t manage more than eight in any of the final three frames.
Emory Norton made two 3-pointers and Kolten Shaw also scored six points in that first quarter as the Longhorns were within 18-12.
However, Waukomis mostly kept up its scoring pace while Dover could not.
The Chiefs were up 33- 18 at halftime and 47-24 entering the fourth.
They got 22 points from Joseph Carter.
Shaw scored 18 for the Longhorns while Norton added eight.
They saw their record drop to 2-4.
Lady Longhorn offense stalls
Waukomis got its offense going in two of its four quarters Tuesday.
Dover never did.
The Lady Longhorns saw their two-game win streak snapped in a 41-15 loss at Waukomis.
Dover never managed more than four points in any quarter as it fell behind 13-3 early and couldn’t make a dent in the deficit.
After the first quarter, the Lady Chiefs cooled down and only scored 10 points over the next 16 minutes.
However, they put the game away for good with an 18-4 run in the fourth.
Karlee Harviston scored seven points to lead Dover, which dropped to 3-3 on the season. Katelyn Harviston scored five.
