John Suthard

John Berry Suthard (September 17, 1951-September 6, 2020) passed away from complications due to Parkinson’s disease on Sept. 6, 2020.

John was born Sept. 17, 1951, in Wichita, Kan., and moved to Hennessey with his family when he was a young child.

John was a sweet, quiet child who was dearly loved by his brothers and sisters.

He attended Hennessey Elementary School, but he dropped out because he had special needs that weren’t addressed in that time period.

He was diagnosed with schizophrenia at the age of 19 and placed in public care for the rest of his life.

He longed to return to Hennessey.

John was preceded in death by his parents Paul Walburn Suthard and Margaret Elizabeth Suthard (nee Berry) and his siblings Melinda Elaine Suthard, Jo Ann Suthard, Robbie Lee Suthard, Nancy Jo Suthard Neeley and Dale Allen Suthard.

His surviving siblings are Bonnie Lois Suthard Frame (Robert), Sandra Sharon Suthard Ashlock, Kent Andrew Suthard (Melea), Paul Walburn Suthard and Linda Kay Suthard.

His remains were interred in Hennessey Cemetery with Rev. Pamela Stewart conducting the graveside service at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 21.
