Irene Gabriel

Funeral services for Irene Gabriel, 98, were Saturday, June 26, at the Ladusau-Evans Chapel in Enid with Pastor Jimmy Berkenbile officiating.

Burial followed at Waukomis Cemetery. Services were under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Irene was born July 6, 1922, in Garber to Truman and Olga Johnston and passed away June 20, 2021, in Hennessey.

She graduated from Waukomis High School.

Irene is survived by her children, Sammy Gabriel (Cindy) of Spartanburg, S.C., Sandra Sue Simunek (David) of Marshall, Kay Meek (Michael) of Hennessey and Rita McGuire (Steve) of Lenexa, Kan.; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; numerous great-great-grandchildren; brother Carl Johnston of Denver, Colo.; and brother-in-law Ernest Gabriel and his wife Clemy.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Albert and sister Edna Landwehr.
