Woodson Whitebird
Memorial services for Woodson Whitebird will be 10 a.m. Saturday, June 12, at Frontline Ministries in Kingfisher.Services are under the direction of Huber-Benson Funeral Home, El Reno. Woodson was born Dec. 12, 1943, at Clinton, the son of Lawrence and Lena (Tasso) Whitebird.
He graduated from Kingfisher High School and received an associate’s degree from Redlands Community College.
He was an emergency medical technician and a driver for the Cherokee Strip Transit.
Woodson was a member of All Nations Baptist Church in Kingfisher and the Royal Rangers of the Assembly of God Church.
He was also a Native American re-enactor and volunteer at Fort Reno.
On June 18, 1963, Woodson married Arie Loftis in Kingfisher. Arie survives him.
Other survivors include sons Michael Whitebird and wife Luana of Guernsey, Wyo., and Jeremiah Whitebird and wife Tylinn of Ada; daughter Rebecca Whitebird and fiancé Chad Thomison of Holdenville; brother Melvin Whitebird of San Tan Valley, Ariz.; sister Martha Redbird of Kingfisher; 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
His parents, brother Lutz Whitebird and sister Jerdie Clayton preceded him in death.
