Sister Ellen Shannon

Sister Ellen Shannon, O.P., who taught at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic School in Kingfisher 1957-59, died April 17, according to a recent edition of the Sooner Catholic.

She was a resident of Saint Dominic Villa in Hazel Green, Wis., at time of death.

Her religious name was Sister Moise.

Burial took place April 19 in the Motherhouse Cemetery. The funeral mass was held at the Motherhouse on April 24

Sister Shanon made her first religious provision as a Sinsinawa Dominican Aug. 5,1944 and her perpetual profession Aug. 5, 1947.

She taught for 26 years and was principal for 20 years. She served in Illinois, Wisconsin, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Minnesota, Montana and Washington.
