Snodgrass, Mecklenburg have big days for KMS track teams
Scout Snodgrass and Matthew Mecklenburg won three gold medals apiece for Kingfisher during last Saturday’s Watonga High School and Junior High Track & Field Meet.
Snodgrass medaled four times overall as the KMS girls took third place as a team with 89 points.
She won the 400 meter run in 1:04.11 as well as the long jump as she leapt 14 feet, 9 1/4 inch.
She was also a part of the 3,200 meter relay team that took first place.
She was joined by Natalie Garrett, Liberty Starr and Harper Evans.
Kingfisher’s 1,600 meter relay team featuring Snodgrass, Evans, Garrett and Addison Willson was second.
Abbie Myers was a twotime medalist for KMS.
Myers took second in the 100 meter hurdles and third in the 300 hurdles.
Terry Ann McCully also medaled for the Lady Jackets as she was third in the mile run.
Mecklenburg’s gold medals were all in individual events.
He claimed first in the 110 hurdles (18.30), 300 hurdles (45.68) and the 200 meter run (26.62).
Kingfisher’s boys were fifth as a team with 63 points.
Keynun Combs was second in the 400.
His twin brother, Keylun Combs, took third in the long jump.
Mason Alig also won a bronze medal as he finished third in the discus throw.
