Mueggenborg joins KHS gold medal club
Junior wins 3,200 at Watonga; Stephenson, Evans add 7 medals
Jacee Mueggenborg has joined the ranks of Kingfisher High School girls track and field athletes to win an individual gold medal this season.
The junior won the 3,200 meter run at last Saturday’s Watonga High School and Middle School Track & Field Meet.
Ally Stephenson added four medals and Zoey Evans three to help KHS to 135 points and a thirdplace team finish.
Watonga won the meet with 190 points. Chisholm was the runner-up with 150.
Cashion took seventh with 23 points.
Stephenson won both the long jump and high jump events.
She cleared 5 feet, 4 inches in the high jump and 15-8 to win the long jump.
She also was second in the 400 meter run and part of the silver medal 1,600 meter relay team.
Emily Myers, Andrea Becerra and Ashley Casillas were also a part of the 4x400 relay.
Evans went home with a handful of silver.
She was second in the 800 and 1,600 runs as well as the 3,200 meter relay.
Joining her there was Chesni Newkirk, Becerra and Katon Lunsford.
Makina Frost placed in four events and medaled in two as she was third in the 300 hurdles and 200 meter run.
Cashion’s best individual finish came from Lauren Lamb, who was second in the 200.
