Muñoz, DeLaTorre hat tricks lead KHS boys to district soccer win
The Kingfisher boys got a pair of hat tricks and a blowout win Tuesday to begin district soccer play.
Alan Muñoz completed his hat trick - plus some - in the first half and Aaron DeLaTorre picked up his third goal in the second half as the Jackets rolled past visiting Corde1113-3.
The win evened the KHS mark at 1-1 entering this weekend’s tournament in Weatherford.
The Jackets are also 1-0 in District 3A-1 contests.
They built their lead early as they got on top 9-3 by halftime.
Munoz, a junior, not only scored three early goals, but had five by halftime.
DeLaTorre scored his first two goals in the first half as well.
The Jackets also got goals from Konner Baartman and Aldo Munoz.
In the second half, Aldo Munoz managed his second goal while Xander Bolner netted a pair of them before DeLaTorre scored his final one.
Cordell tops KHS girls
Cordell got the first win of the night as the Lady Blue Devils topped KHS 6-2 in the girls game.
Enriqueta Sanchez had 17 saves for the Lady Jackets, but was under pressure much of the night.
Ten of those saves came in the first half, but Cordell still managed two goals for the halftime lead.
Kingfisher got on the board in the second half when Jackie Rivera scored on an assist from Maleonia Vogt.
Vogt then recorded her own goal.
The loss dropped KHS to 0-2 on the season and 0-1 in district games.
